Epic Victory Screenshots; WIP

Postby lionheart » Tue Feb 09, 2010 1:49 am

Hey all,

For those that are following the progress of the Epic Victory business jet that we have been working on, here are some screenshots of the girl's latest progress.

In deciding to go with FSX as an 'only' available model version, I was able to make parts high detail, and far outgo my limits in polygons. Thus I was able to do a female copilot, detailed nose compartment with hydraulics and electronics boxes, and a visible turbine engine in the rear with lifting animated cowling.

More details are visible on the instrument panel with super small parts having crisp detail that do not collapse as from the FS9 compiler issues.

Please note we are still working on a new FS9 compiler that would not have a limit in polygons and also could make super fine parts without ruining them from auto-weld issues. Pray for us that we get this working as it will then mean we could bring the Epic Victory working in FS2004. :D

Yes, looking fantastic Bill. It's great to see how you've progressed since the early days of FS9.

Thanks guys.

Here are some panel shots. Working with the night textures, blending them for a nice, cool glow appearence when in 'instruments only' lighting mode.

I am messing with making the rocker switches black instead of white. Also, because of the high angle, I raised the font to the tops of the rocker switches as they are more readable when in the on positions.

The night lighting's looking good Bill.

One good effect I saw recently was by Mike on the L-39. The GPS is just beneath the overhanging lip of the panel top. When terrain is off you get a soft green glow beneath the overhang and when you switch to terrain, the glow becomes more of a green/blue colour. It's a tiny effect, but one I've not seen before and one that looks excellent.

Wow... I wonder how on Earth he did that. It would be interesting to know how that was done. (I still have to get that jet. Everyone has it but me.. arrghh).

Thanks for the heads up Nick.

If I still would be flying on FSX I would buy it, even though I seldomly 'flew' business jets.

I have so much detail I wish to put in this plane, and the FS9 compiler just couldnt do it.
